Our resident corporate Agony Uncle, CEO Ken Cheng, tackles business challenges – so you don’t have to
Dear Ken Cheng,
If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?
– Billy, 13, Young Entrepreneur Club
Ken Cheng:
I would have the ability to ignore labour laws.
I’ve been asked this question a lot and all the regular superpowers people have, I already possess.
Super intelligence? Already am.
Mind control? I can basically already do that after business school.
Flight? I have a private jet.
There is very little in this world that impedes me, except one thing.
I can’t make my employees work longer than a certain number of hours in unsafe conditions.
So, it makes sense thats my ideal superpower: the ability to click my fingers and ignore the legal quagmires that come with employment.
I want to make someone work 120 hours? They have to do it.
I want to employ a child? Done.
They want a lunch break? I snap and make their packed lunches disappear.
Most people want super strength so I can break down walls.
Me? I want the power to break up unions.
