Little Grey Cells Community partner Becky Simms delivered a hugely successful conference with a single goal: to inspire Sixth Formers to consider careers in Marketing. In this article she reviews her event and invites community members to get involved in the next edition.
Becky Simms writes:
In March, Aspiration Digital delivered its most ambitious and impactful event to date, welcoming 1,000 students aged 16 to 18 to explore how to kick-start a career in digital. It was a day full of energy, insight, and genuine inspiration, and the results speak for themselves.

To measure the impact, we asked students to rate their confidence in pursuing a digital career, both at the start and end of the day. The shift was extraordinary: a 70% positive swing in average scores. To see that level of change in just one day is testament to the incredible speakers who shared their stories, including Dan Marsh from OVO, Emilie Birks from Beatport, and Isla Lightfoot from Aptem, all proud members of the Little Grey Cells community.
Across the day, 50 speakers gave their time to connect with students, sharing not just what they do, but why they do it. Every story shared had the potential to spark something. We’ve since seen a wave of students joining LinkedIn, posting their first reflections, and beginning their journey to build a professional network. The ripple effect is already happening.

And we’re just getting started. Plans are already underway to expand the reach; four regional events are being scoped out for later this year, covering the South East, Midlands, North West, and Scotland.
If you’d like to be part of it, we’d love to hear from you. Whether that’s stepping up as a speaker, making a key introduction, or supporting us as a sponsor, every contribution helps us to shape the future.
Because the future of our industry sits with a team we haven’t met yet, together, we can inspire them to dream bigger.
